Toyota and Volkswagen are giving new incentives to drivers who earn more than $1 million a year to encourage them to renew their vehicles and get more miles on them.
The two companies announced Thursday that Toyota will offer a $1.25 million bonus for drivers who have a five-year anniversary with their vehicles in 2018 and Volkswagen will give drivers $1 for every $1 they earn for the first three years of their contract.
Volkswagen also is offering a $500,000 incentive to drivers that renew their contracts by March 31.
Toyota, which started offering incentives in 2015, has also been increasing the number of incentives available to eligible workers who have been working for a minimum of three years and earned at least $15,000 in 2017.
Wilton vize, which is a tiered payment based on a vehicle’s mileage, has been a popular incentive for auto manufacturers for years.
VW is offering incentives for drivers with a four-year contract, with bonuses of $5,000 and $10,000, respectively.
Volkswagen has also started offering its workers incentives for purchasing a new vehicle, with a $3,000 cash incentive and a $10-per-vehicle incentive for a three-year, five-month contract.
