Visa costs more than $7,500 to visit Australia for a single person, according to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
The average cost to visit is $721 per person, but that’s not all Australians pay for their stay.
The bureau says it does not track any individual cost to a person who uses a visa to visit a particular country.
For instance, a tourist using a visa can travel on a holiday visa to Thailand and pay for the flight from Sydney to Bangkok, as long as the trip is worth $400,000 or more.
It doesn’t include the cost of accommodation and transportation, and it doesn’t account for taxes.
